We are currently approaching one of the most active times in the real estate market, despite the present economy: people are still buying and selling homes, and it is important to have realistic expectations.

The key to successful marketing of your home is a joint effort between you and your real estate professional; you both need to be able to communicate openly about expectations and goals.  Be open to what is really happening in your market, as real estate is not national, but local, and make sure your agent knows exactly what is going on in your market.

The three major components of the sale of your home are: location, condition and price.  You have control over condition and price, so focus on ensuring that your home is in the best condition and set a realistic price with your real estate professional.

As of right now, the market changes on a daily basis, so you need to be willing to change with those conditions in order to get your home sold. Create the timeline for getting your home on the market: get all of those little touch-ups completed, have your home and carpets professionally cleaned, and concentrate on packing away things that you are not using; be sure that every room has a purpose and, if necessary and one is available to you, have your home staged (I am sure your agent has one).  It is the little things that will make a big difference.

By following your real estate professional’s advice, you will get your home sold for the best price and in the shortest amount of time! & I am always willing to help!
